Proposed Revisions to SHA Bylaws for Approval at 2019 Annual Meeting

SHA’s Bylaws have not undergone a thorough revision in over 10 years — and it’s time for an update! SHA’s Board of Directors has been working with outside counsel specializing in non-profit community organizations to revise our Bylaws, the policies and guidelines that govern our operations and structure. The goal of this revision process is to (1) ensure tha SHA’s Bylaws are in compliance with state laws and regulations for non-profit governance and (2) revise the Bylaws to fit SHA’s evolving needs as a community organization.

Pursuant to SHA's current bylaws, any changes to SHA's bylaws require approval by the organization's general membership at SHA's Annual Meeting, which will be held this year on October 23, 2019. We encourage those who live in District 16 to review these draft bylaws ahead of the Annual Meeting. You may review the file online or read a printed copy in the SHA office located in the Linwood Rec Center at 860 St. Clair Ave. Please call ahead of time to verify office hours. All comments or questions about the bylaws must be received at the SHA office by 5pm on October 22.
