Zoning & Land Use

The ZLU Committee has a significant impact on residential and commercial development in Summit Hill by evaluating requests for licenses, permits and zoning variances. Recommendations from the committee are directed to the City of St. Paul departments such as the Historic Preservation Commission, departments of Planning and Economic Development and Safety and Inspections, the Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commission, and our City Council representative, where they are given serious consideration. This committee also handles occasional appeals of City decisions, and addresses neighborhood complaints and concerns regarding zoning and land use-related issues. Due to the nature of this committee, membership on the committee is limited to SHA directors however, meetings are open to the public.
