Spring Progressive Suppers

Meet neighbors as you enjoy a 4-course dinner, moving to a different home with each course. A small participation fee benefits the neighborhood.

May

Spring Clean-Up

Once a year, SHA provides a reduced rate for drop-off of materials such as concrete, electronics, scrap metals, florescent bulbs, tires, and construction debris. Volunteers are needed to help, and for working a 3.5hr shift, receive a voucher for disposal of one load of materials. Keeping our neighborhood looking great takes effort and all residents are encouraged to clean out garages, buildings & properties.

Neighborhood Garage Sale

Twice a year you have the opportunity to organize & de-clutter! For a small fee, SHA publicizes the sales, including your location and goods for sale. Registration information will be available on the website.

June

Grand Old Day*

St. Paul’s annual first rite of summer takes place on the first Sunday in June along the city’s historic Grand Avenue, featuring activities for all ages including: sporting events, Grand Old Day Parade, Art Fair, Family Fun Area, Teen Battle of the Bands, live music, festival gardens and over 140 outdoor food and merchandise vendors.

July/August

Paws on Grand*

Celebrate the dog days of summer on Grand Avenue. GABA partners with local rescue groups to pamper four-legged friends all day long. Gather up giveaways, relax on a pet-friendly restaurant patio, learn about pet adoption, support rescue groups, and pose for the popular pet photo contest.

National Night Out

Get out and meet neighbors on a summer evening as Block and Building Clubs organize social events. Part of a national effort, NNO endeavors to reduce crime in neighborhoods and strengthen communities.

September

Summit Hill House Tour 2014 video – Next Tour in 2016

Since 1974, the Summit Hill House Tour has been a Twin Cities favorite and is SHA’s biggest fundraiser. Tour historical mansions as well as local condos every even numbered years. Volunteers are needed for planning and helping the day of the event.

Grand Harvest*

Take in the sweet tastes, smells, and colors of the harvest season from apples & caramel to pumpkin & cinnamon during Grand Harvest. Grand Ave businesses will host special autumn sales and activities to celebrate the harvest season with the community.

SHA Annual Meeting

Gather with neighbors to celebrate and give thanks for the many volunteers that keep SHA and the community strong. New SHA Board members are elected and the Good Neighbor Award is presented to a deserving member of the Summit Hill community.

Grand Meander*

Join a St. Paul tradition that captures the charm of historic Grand Avenue and the cozy communal spirit of the holidays! Pick out your Christmas tree, have breakfast with Santa, hear Elizabethan carolers meander from store to store, and hop on a classic trolley and ride the 20-block length of Grand Ave.

Community Christmas Tree Pickup Registration

This season’s tree pickup will be on Saturday January 14th, 2017. To register, please send your name and address along with a cheque for $10.00 per tree. Please indicate ‘Tree Pickup’ on the Memo line. Mail to the Summit Hill Association, 860 St. Clair Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55105.
