Snow Emergency Information

St. Paul declares Snow Emergencies after snowfalls of 3" or more OR an accumulation of 3" of snow over several days.  All streets are either Night Plow Routes or Day Plow Routes. Night Plow Routes have red and white plowing signs as illustrated below.  Day Plow Routes do not have plowing signs.

To find out if a Snow Emergency is in effect, listen to the radio, watch TV and newspapers and ask your neighbors - or call 266-PLOW (266-7569) the 24-hour snowplowing information line.  If you have a home computer and an e-mail address, Public Works will notify you directly via e-mail when a snow emergency has been declared.  You can then pass the word along to your friends and neighbors.  If you would like to be added to the Public Works notification list, send you e-mail address to SnowAlert.
