Committee Goals: | Identifies, advocates for and develops environmental projects relevant to the Summit Hill neighborhood; Promotes greater environmental awareness and increased citizen participation in these efforts – including: recycling; waste reduction; rain gardens & rain barrels; home energy efficiency; greening projects along Grand Avenue; an Annual Neighborhood Cleanup; and maintenance of the Sam Morgan Native Prairie. | |

- *April 2007 & 2009 Sam Morgan Prairie restoration burns and Sept. 2007 Replanting Project
- *Established and maintains the Linwood Park upper gardens
- Installed underground watering system for maintainence of Linwood Park upper gardens
- *Coordinates Annual Spring Neighborhood Clean Up
- *Promotes weekly curbside recycling
- *Spring/Fall Garage Sales
- *Spring Plant Exchange
- 2009 Raingarden Workshop
- 2009 Collaborative transportation project with Grand Ave. Business Association to install over 100 bike racks at 15 Grand Avenue locations.
- *Promotes neighborhood environmental stewardship through new "green" column in The Summit newsletter

- Planning quarterly public information sessions on environmental issues: i.e.: All About Plastics Workshop, etc.
